From the ashes of the electroclash scene out of NYC with his band Soviet (Ministry Of Sound, Burger Records, Mogul ), After four years of touring to some critical acclaim with positive press in Vice, Spin, AP, The Village Voice, Time, and V, sharing the stage with the likes of Adult, Fischerspooner, The Feint, Killers, Yeah yeah yeahs, Suicide, ARE Weapons, Moving Units, Keith formed Sounds Red in early 2003 when he ventured out to Los Angeles to record his second album. Having found a kinship with several motion graphics artists who reached out to collaborate, Keith decided to begin his foray into sound design and composition. Having linked up with Transistor Studios, Logan, Fuel, Viacom, and the creatives there, Keith’s early sound work alongside longtime collaborator, friend, and Sounds Red partner Chaz Windus together became the sound of MTV and VH1 branding at the time in partnership with designer Justin Harder (Lambo). He soon teamed up with auteur creative directors Bradley Munkowitz (Gmunk), Ben Conrad (Logan), PJ Richardson (Laundry), and Andrew Gura; Ruggiero solidified and embraced his new role as a serious contender in audio branding.
Collaborated with Bot and Dolly and Gmunk on BOX which won several awards,
became a viral sensation which lead to the Google acquisition of Bot and Dolly.

This collaboration lead to working with the agency Verba on their Audi A3 campaign as well as the development of the score and soundscapes for Sapient Nitro’s installment for the Nuit Blanche festival in Toronto, we then partnered with VT Productions on the Adobe logo and their robotic installation, Telestron which went on to feature at the Day for Night festival in Houston as well as tour China and Los Angeles it garnered rave reviews from Billboard, Design Boom and the FWA. This in turn lead to our collaboration with AKQA and Oculus.
Gymkhana Series,
We brought a touch of sophisticated sound and fury to Ken Block’s Gymkhana series that went viral 10 times over with each new installment. We took it from obscurity to a household name, having worked on the most viewed videos in Youtubes history. Partnering with Hoonigan and Logan, Sounds Red would be a part of 8 of the most popular of Ken Block’s productions. Sounds Red was the sound and fury behind the spastic engine filled symphony of screeches and creative moments. Gymkhana has won TWO Gold Telly Awards, ADC award, and nominated for best sound design by AICP
One Show Interactive Gold Pencil award
This lead to our collaboration with Castrol, MOS and Logan on Virtual Drift where a professional driver drifts through a virtual racecourse in real time. Also lead to audio branding for Nissan and the 2018 Audi GTI. Sounds Red were closely involved with the start of Donut Media and most of their viral campaigns.
